A New Year, A New Decade, maybe.

January 1, 2010 – 03:25

It’s that time again, a new year, a new decade, er, well maybe a new decade, depending on which calendar you follow. For those following the astronomical calendar, this is a new decade. Those following the Gregorian calendar, will have to wait until next year, but I digress.
So how did we ring in the New [...]

On the Fifth Night of Chanukah My True Love Gave to Me…

December 15, 2009 – 04:51

Actually we didn’t exchange presents tonight but we did start a new tradition of eating Chinese dinner. Since it’s Chanukah fried food is the order of the day, and Chinese seemed like a good candidate. So we took all the children, including KD and her friend S, to the Chinese buffet, which unfortunately was terrible.  [...]

December 13, 2009 – 07:02

We are having a lovely Chanukah so far. I love the holidays, spending time together, stepping outside the mundane, day to day goings on of life.

Sniffles Strike Back

December 5, 2009 – 04:53

This year it feels like we have been plagued with illness. Must be the third or fourth time the children have been sick in the past 6 months. Fortunately it has been nothing serious, but it sure isn’t any fun!
Right now both the boys are sick. JA started coughing last week, and he is still [...]

Thanksgiving Eve

November 26, 2009 – 06:41

Thanksgiving is upon us once again, and this year we have much to be thankful for.
Like my wonderful family:
My husband, the love of my life, who loves, protects and provides for us all.
K our eldest daughter who is kind, funny and always a pleasure to have around.
C, shalom aleichem.
For sunny, vivacious, wonderfully artistic [...]

My not so little, littlest man

January 7, 2009 – 05:30

SA is six today! How is it that he grew up so quickly? My “baby” is no longer a baby but a charming little guy, full of life and exuding character like nobody’s business.
It seems like just yesterday I was on deaths door after having had him, wondering if I would even live long enough [...]

After working hard all day around the house we decided to take a break this afternoon. The children packed up their scooters into the  car so we could head down to the park. Reflection Walk was created a few years ago when space was made availabe after the traffic was rerouted onto the new bridge.
The park consists [...]

Born on the 4th of July

July 5, 2007 – 03:47

Independence Day is always a family event around here. Not only is it one of those rare occasions when everyone has the day off, it is also my mother’s birthday. This works quite well for my mother who doesn’t like all the fuss and hoopla of a birthday party. Instead we have a 4th of [...]
