Actually we didn’t exchange presents tonight but we did start a new tradition of eating Chinese dinner. Since it’s Chanukah fried food is the order of the day, and Chinese seemed like a good candidate. So we took all the children, including KD and her friend S, to the Chinese buffet, which unfortunately was terrible. [...]
We are having a lovely Chanukah so far. I love the holidays, spending time together, stepping outside the mundane, day to day goings on of life.
This year it feels like we have been plagued with illness. Must be the third or fourth time the children have been sick in the past 6 months. Fortunately it has been nothing serious, but it sure isn’t any fun!

Today we celebrated SJ’s birthday. Below she is standing by her gluten free cake. One side is chocolate, the other yellow, with basic white icing and colored sugar crystals as decoration. instead of ice cream we had 5 different flavors of Good Karma Rice Cream. Mud Pie, Carrot Cake, Vanilla, Peanut butter Fudge and Mint.
